Each flight is a different journey dictated by the wind, where the sights and sounds rise from the ground to meet you.
Sometimes the basket will gently brush the tips of the grass and then climb through the air until you’re high enough to see the curve of the horizon, painted gold and pink by the early sun. The pilots have years of experience in harnessing the African wind.
After an hour the basket will land on the plains of the Serengeti. But it’s not over yet … the balloonist’s tradition is to toast the flight with bubbly and so will you!
Then it’s off to a special Serengeti breakfast under the canopy of acacia trees, served on linen, bone china and Sheffield cutlery in true ‘Out of Africa’ style.
